A little note from us

If you’re reading this, it’s because you’re one of our favourite people, and we can’t wait to have you with us.

It means so much to us that you’re making the journey to the South of France. We know a wedding abroad takes a little more planning, so we’ve put everything you’ll need in one place to make it as easy as possible.

More than anything, we just feel incredibly lucky that we get to bring all the people we love together in one place. We’re so excited for the wedding and all the little moments around it — seeing everyone arrive, drinks in the sunshine with you, dancing together and making memories we’ll probably talk about forever.

Come for the wedding, and enjoy the sunshine, beaches, food and wine during your stay.

We genuinely can’t wait to have you there with us.

MONDAY 5 JULY 2027
LES GRANGES SAINT-PAUL

Keep the celebrations going and join us for one last evening together at the venue.

Grab a drink, a slice of pizza and find a spot to watch the sun go down with us — then we’ll see where the evening takes us.

BRING A BOTTLE YOU LOVE The bar won’t be open on Monday, so bring along whatever you’d like to drink for the evening.

There’s no dress code — come in shorts and a T-shirt, dress up for sunset drinks, or anything in between. Whatever you feel good in.

One last get-together with everyone before the wedding weekend comes to an end.

Timings will be confirmed nearer the time.

Travel

Getting there & getting around.

Flights

Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport (BZR) is closest. Start checking for summer 2027 flights between November 2026 and January 2027.

Getting to the church

Please make your own way to Colombiers. We can't sensibly run one pickup because everyone will be staying in different places.

Church to reception

Transport will be provided from the church to Les Granges Saint-Paul.

Getting home

We're planning taxis around the finish time doing repeated trips. Guests will cover the cost of their own journey home.

Bolt & local taxis

Bolt worked well for us in Béziers and busier areas. Rural pickups can take longer. Local drivers booked directly may prefer cash.

Google Translate

We’d recommend downloading Google Translate before you travel and downloading French for offline use. English isn’t as widely spoken in some of the smaller towns and villages around Béziers, particularly with local taxi drivers and in smaller restaurants and shops.

Where to stay

Town, beach or village.

Béziers

Probably the best option if you want plenty around you during the trip. You’ll have restaurants, bars, shops and the old town within easy reach, and it’s a good base if you’re making a few days of the wedding. Approximately 10–15 minutes from the venue and 5–10 minutes from Béziers Airport.

Valras-Plage

A great option if you want the trip to feel more like a beach holiday. There’s a seafront, restaurants and bars around you. Approximately 20 minutes from the venue.

Portiragnes-Plage

Another lovely coastal option if being near the beach is your priority. Approximately 20–25 minutes from the venue, so just bear transport in mind for the wedding itself.

Lespignan / Colombiers

The closest options to the wedding itself and lovely if you want somewhere quieter and more rural. Please bear in mind that there may not be bars or restaurants open locally at night, and we can’t guarantee what will be available in the evenings. If you want to head out for dinner or drinks, you may need a car or taxi.

Please bear this in mind when booking.

If you choose to stay close to the church or venue in Colombiers, Lespignan or one of the smaller surrounding villages, we can’t guarantee that you’ll have bars, restaurants or shops within easy walking distance.

If you’re hoping to go out for dinner, have drinks or have more around you during your stay, we’d recommend Béziers or one of the beach areas we’ve mentioned, such as Valras-Plage or Portiragnes-Plage.

You can absolutely stay in one of the quieter villages — just bear in mind that you may need a car or taxi to go out for dinner or drinks. If you use a local taxi and like the driver, save their WhatsApp number. We found this such an easy way to arrange journeys directly.

There are also local bus services connecting some of the smaller towns and villages with Béziers, which can be useful during the day. We’d still recommend planning ahead for evenings and later journeys.

Around the area

A little look at where you could stay.

Town, canal or beach — these are the main areas mentioned in the guest pack, so this gives you a better feel for each one before you book.

Good to know

Little things that might help.

Keep cool

July can be warm. A small rechargeable hand fan is a useful thing to pop in your bag — completely optional, but handy.

Heels

There are cobbled streets and stone surfaces around the church, so a slightly chunkier heel may be easier than a very fine stiletto.

Keep some euros

Local taxi drivers booked directly or by WhatsApp may prefer cash. Bolt is paid by card through the app.

Before you book

Planning your trip.

A few things to keep in mind before you book flights or accommodation.

Flights from Edinburgh

The current summer schedule between Edinburgh and Béziers operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays in both directions. Summer 2027 flights are not on sale yet, so please use this as a planning guide only — we’ll confirm the 2027 schedule once it is officially released. Start checking between November 2026 and January 2027.

How long should we stay?

As long as you like. You can make the wedding part of a longer South of France holiday, spend a few nights in Béziers, or stay by the beach. If you want to join Day Two, make sure your plans also cover Monday 5 July.

Passport & travel

Please check your own passport validity, travel insurance and the latest entry requirements for France before travelling.

Getting around

A few practical bits.

Do we need a hire car?

Not necessarily. If you’re staying in Béziers, Valras-Plage or Portiragnes-Plage, getting a Bolt is very easy — it works much like Uber and we found it really straightforward to use. We can’t confidently say the same for the smaller villages such as Lespignan or Colombiers, particularly later at night, so if you stay there it’s worth planning ahead, saving a local taxi driver’s WhatsApp number, or hiring a car if you want more flexibility.

Rural pickups

Cars can take a little longer to arrive in the smaller villages around the church and venue, especially later at night.

Local drivers

If you get a good local taxi driver during your stay, it is worth asking for their business card or WhatsApp number. Direct bookings can also sometimes work out a little cheaper.

Payment

Local drivers booked directly or by WhatsApp often prefer cash. Bolt is paid by card in the app.

Staying in Béziers or by the beach?

Don’t feel like you need to hire a car just for the wedding trip. In Béziers, Valras-Plage and Portiragnes-Plage, Bolt is really simple to use and works much like Uber. It’s the smaller villages where we’d recommend planning taxis more carefully.

What to expect

Wedding-day notes.

Dress

Final attire details can be confirmed with the invitation or final guest information. It will be a summer wedding in the South of France, so plan for warm weather while keeping the church ceremony in mind.

Indoor or outdoor?

The venue is open-plan indoor and outdoor, so you can move easily between both spaces. The drinks reception will be mostly outside, dinner will be inside, and later the outside bar will close as the inside bar opens. The party and dance floor will be indoors once it gets dark.

Currency

France uses euros (€).

Dietary requirements

Please tell us when RSVP or menu information is requested so it can be passed to the caterer.
